Aura — Privacy Policy

Version 1.1 · Effective: 5 August 2026

Aura keeps your health data on your phone. This policy explains what is collected, where it is stored, and the specific cases in which anything leaves your device.

What Aura stores on your device

  • Your profile: name, age, height, weight, goals, and whether you use a watch or band.
  • What you log: sleep, weight, blood pressure, resting heart rate, meals, water, and cycle entries.
  • Workout history for the last seven days, including duration, energy, distance and steps.
  • App state such as your language, streak, and daily usage counters.
  • All of this is held in storage private to Aura on your phone. Your subscription receipt is held in the iOS Keychain. None of it is sent to us, because Aura has no account system and no server of its own.

Apple Health

  • With your permission, Aura reads steps, distance, active energy, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, sleep, body mass, blood pressure and workouts from Apple Health.
  • Aura writes back only what you record in the app: finished workouts, water, weight, blood pressure, resting heart rate, and sleep you log by hand.
  • Health data is read on the device and shown to you. It is never uploaded, and it is never used for advertising.
  • You can change or withdraw this access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing → Apps → Aura. iOS shows the permission sheet only once, so after that the Health app is the only place these switches can be changed.
  • Deleting Aura, or using Start over inside it, does not delete anything from Apple Health. That data belongs to Health, and only you can remove it there.

The AI coach and food scanner

  • These are the only features that send anything off your phone. They are processed by Google's Gemini API.
  • When you message the AI coach, your message is sent together with a picture of your health, so the reply is about you rather than generic. That includes your age, height, weight and goal; today's steps, distance, active energy and hydration; your readiness score; last night's sleep and your recent nights; resting heart rate and HRV where a wearable provides them; any blood pressure, meals and strength sessions you have logged; and, if you track it, your current cycle day and phase.
  • When you scan a meal, the photo you take is sent so the food can be identified.
  • Your name, your contact details and your precise location are never sent. Aura attaches no account or device identifier either, because it has neither.
  • Google processes this data under its own terms. If you would rather send nothing at all, simply do not use the AI coach or the food scanner — the rest of Aura works without them.

Location

  • During an outdoor workout, Aura uses your location to measure distance and draw your route.
  • Tracking runs only between starting and finishing a workout, and continues while your screen is locked so the workout keeps recording — iOS shows an indicator whenever this is happening.
  • Your route stays on the device. It is not uploaded, and it is not shared.
  • Location is never collected while you are not in a workout.

Motion and the camera

  • Motion and fitness access is used to count steps and distance during a workout, so a phone in your pocket still records the session.
  • The camera is used only when you open the food scanner. Photos are used for that scan and are not stored in a library by Aura.

Payments

  • Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Aura never sees your card details, and never receives them.
  • Aura stores only whether a subscription or trial is active, and when the trial began.

Tracking and analytics

  • Aura contains no advertising, no analytics service, and no third-party tracking.
  • Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with data brokers.

Your control

  • Signing out lets you choose whether to keep your logged data or erase it.
  • Erasing removes everything Aura has stored on the device. Apple Health is deliberately left untouched.
  • Deleting the app removes its local storage with it.

Children

  • Aura is not intended for children under 13, and is not knowingly used to collect their data.

Not medical advice

  • Aura is a wellness app, not a medical device. Its readings, scores and AI replies are for general guidance and cannot diagnose, treat, or replace a clinician.
  • If something concerns you about your health, speak to a doctor.

Changes and contact

  • If this policy changes in substance, the version shown at the top of this screen will change with it.
  • For any question about your data, or to ask what is held about you and have it deleted, email em909z@mail.ru.
